Senior Consultants – Leadership Trainers

 

MDS is a major supplier of leadership and sales training programmes and executive coaching. Founded in Hong Kong in 1995, the Beijing WOFE opened in 2003. MDS works with many of the world’s leading MNCs. MDS has a very professional team of Business Consultants who sell programmes and build client relationships. Leadership Trainers are required to design exercises or role plays and deliver programmes.

 

We are looking for mature, experienced Leadership Trainers (12 years work experience) to take the position of Senior Consultant – Leadership Trainer. There is one vacancy in Hong Kong and one in Beijing . These positions offer you the chance to deliver the company’s full range of leadership programmes to top client companies. You will use advanced materials and some of the world’s foremost psychometric instruments. You will work with an experienced team of L and D specialists including trainers, executive coaches and a large support team.

 

Responsibilities

The overall responsibilities of the Senior Consultant – Leadership Trainer are:

  1. Learn the full range of MDS programmes and deliver them to a high level
  2. Take part in design of new materials including role plays and case studies
  3. Take a business approach to building client relationships
  4. Work closely with the sales team to secure contracts

 

Duties

Duties therefore include:

  • Attending client meetings when appropriate with Business Consultants
  • Advising Business Consultants regarding design of programme outlines
  • Arranging pre-course preparations with clients when appropriate
  • Preparing questions for the online pre-course questionnaire
  • Creating role play cases and scenarios as appropriate
  • Creating customised workbooks (from standard workbooks)
  • Delivering programmes to the highest standard
  • Completing follow-up feedback coaching assignments (MDS 360, etc)
  • Building excellent client relationships

 

Direct Reports

This is an individual contributor role. You will not have direct reports. However, you will need to have well-developed interpersonal skills to work at high levels of productivity with an MDS team which includes:

  • Business Development Manager
  • Head of Learning and Development
  • Business Consultants / Senior Business Consultants
  • Operations Team
  • Associate Trainers and Associate Executive Coaches

 

Reporting Line

The Hong Kong position will report to the Head of Learning and Development in Hong Kong . The Beijing position will report to the General Manager in Beijing .

 

Profile

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Successful track record in as a leadership trainer (3 years)
  • In-depth knowledge of the learning and development profession
  • Management position with people management responsibilities (3 years)
  • An MBA or similar academic qualification
  • Work and trainer experience with MNCs
  • Ability to interact with clients at a senior level
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Native Cantonese and good Putonghua for the Hong Kong position
  • Native Putonghua speaker for the Beijing position

 

Qualities and Competencies

The positions are suitable for locally-based professionals in Hong Kong or Beijing . You will need the following qualities and competencies:

  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Excellent trainer and presentation skills
  • High levels of personal management
  • A personable and persuasive manner
  • Skill with the use of MBTI®, FIRO-B, and similar psychometric instruments
  • Coaching skills
