The Skills Assessment works in exactly the same way as the MDS 360®. It is a highly effective means of obtaining observer feedback on the performance of your managers after they have completed an MDS training programme.
The MDS 360® produces a 12 page report showing how a manager's self assessment compares against assessments from others. This data is very persuasive. It helps managers see how effectively they have applied the learning from the training programme.
There are 3 preparation steps:
- You have already agreed with MDS the learning outcomes (new skills) you expect from the programme
- MDS will then create a set of questions which will effectively measure the targeted skills
- Give us the e-mail address of the managers on the programme (candidates) for this assessment, plus e-mail addresses of people you nominate as observers. Each candidate will need 1 boss, at least 2 peer group members, and at least 3 direct reports as observers.
MDS will then do the rest. The Online assessment is automatic and confidential. It is serviced by an independent server monitored by an MDS administrator. Observers can therefore be assured of anonymity. The scores from peer group observers are averaged out – likewise the scores from direct reports.
